Subject of the survey
In the recent past, industrial production has faced various challenges due to events such as the coronavirus pandemic, the semiconductor crisis and the acute shortage of skilled labour. These events led to changes in working methods and highlighted certain weak points in production.
Against this backdrop, resilience in industrial production is becoming a key factor. This study is a co-operation between the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the industrial consultancy Staufen AG. It aims to understand how companies react to these challenges, what strategies they develop to strengthen their resilience and ultimately to create a comprehensive picture of resilience in industry. The study is part of the Flex4Res research project.
